In which fictional world/universe/land/city would you most like to live?

So it's interesting that hdm is being made into films now. The other day I was spazzing about the golden compass movie and R said, "that movie looks really good. It makes me want to live there and leave this world behind." Yes, and my daemon (well, as of 3 years ago) would be a brightly-colored bird that gets easily distracted by shiny objects.

Have you guys read the books? They're good. You'll hear that they're "controversial" and "anti-religion," but they are not -- they are strongly anti-corruption-of-power-in-governing-bodies, anti-totalitarian-rule-by-fear, anti-...suppression of accumulating experience (ok... I should just never write again). It's just that these ideas will be so easily misinterpreted. They are children's books with very adult themes.

Also I really want to see Nicole Kidman make out with Daniel Craig.

I've read the books and really enjoyed them. They did a stage version at the National Theatre in London, dividing the story into two separate shows. I was a little sceptical as to how it would work particularly being a film lover and knowing what they could do with it on the silver screen. But it was amazing. The daemons were puppets operated by people dressed in black. It sounds rubbish but they made each animal move so convincingly that you soon forgot the 'operator' was even on the stage.
I'm really looking forward to the films and hope they don't go and screw it up. I think Daniel Craig and Nicole Kidman could potentially be electric.
